“Most of us from time to time experience a state of flow—being completely absorbed in what we’re doing. Researchers are finding that in addition to contributing to our work satisfaction, creativity and flow are connected to positive emotions and our overall happiness.” – PBS

A course on intuitive drawing and painting to explore inner abilities we all possess.
Unleash your creative flow
In our everyday lives, we see through filters of acquired knowledge, social conditioning and individual psychology. But, behind these external influences we have perceptions, dreams and personal imagery that make up our unique internal landscapes. Intuitive art-making is a process of discovering this inner world and allowing it to be expressed through art.
Through meditation, visual exercises, movement, and experimenting with a variety of materials, participants will be exposed to techniques to help explore and develop their own intuitive images.
Over the course of four sessions we will:
- Learn about art-making tools and strategies
- Participate in a process of creative discovery in a safe, supportive setting
- Create conditions for entering the state of flow
- Connect with ourselves and with other like-minded seekers
Talia’s Peckel is a Toronto-based artist with a BFA from OCAD University in Drawing and Painting. After four years of being immersed in the academic sphere of art school and being introduced to the elusive “art world”, she decided to take a different path, by pursuing alternative, accessible forms of art instruction. She has been an art instructor to a number of age groups including children (ages 7 – 12) and adults with special needs. She currently leads various visual art workshops for adults.
Talia has a special interest in alternative and holistic approaches to art and creativity, which involve strategies for intuitive art, mindfulness, and meditative practices. Using art as a tool for communication and expression, with ourselves as much as with each other, it has the power to lighten our spirits, heal our emotions, and connect us to one another.
